Message from the Principal

Principal Chris Trimble - A man with short brown hair smiles at the camera.

Whether your child is just beginning their educational journey in Kindergarten or preparing for the transition to high school in 8th grade, we’re thrilled to partner with you. At our school, we believe that a strong connection between home and school is the foundation for every student’s success.

As an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) school, we are committed to equipping all students with the skills, strategies, and mindsets they need to thrive in school and beyond. Through AVID’s focus on organization, collaboration, inquiry, and critical thinking, we are building a college- and career-ready culture for every learner.

We also believe that every child learns in their own unique way. That’s why we are deeply committed to personalized learning—providing opportunities that meet students where they are, spark their curiosity, and help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Whether through small-group instruction, student choice in projects, or goal-setting activities, we strive to ensure that every student is seen, heard, and supported.

Here are a few ways you can support your child’s learning at home:

  • Establish a consistent routine: A regular time and quiet space for homework or reading helps students stay focused and organized.

  • Encourage a love of reading: Whether your child is learning letter sounds or diving into chapter books, reading every day builds confidence and skills.

  • Limit screen time: Help your child find a healthy balance between technology and other activities like reading, outdoor play, or family time.

  • Celebrate growth and effort: Recognizing your child’s hard work and progress fosters resilience and a positive attitude toward learning.

  • Support healthy habits: A good night’s sleep, nutritious meals, and physical activity help students stay alert and ready to learn.

  • Stay connected with us: Use ParentSquare to stay in touch with your child’s teacher, ask questions, and keep up with school events and opportunities.

We are honored to be part of your child’s educational journey and are excited about the year ahead. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or the school office—our team is here to support you every step of the way.
